***McLennan County is not under a burn ban***

McLennan County is not under a burn ban.
However, there is a "Red Flag Warning" Burn Ban Order in place. This particular Burn Ban Order is only active when the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag Warning.
You can always contact the County Judge's Office (254-757-5049) or the Office of Emergency Management (254-750-5911) if you have questions or need additional information.
Please use extreme caution when engaging in any outdoor burning activity. Parts of McLennan County are still dry and fire can spread quickly.

According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Outdoor Burning Regulations, outdoor burning is allowed only when it can be conducted safely and does not create a nuisance or traffic hazard.
Before conducting a controlled burn, confirm that no burn ban is in effect and check local conditions such as wind speed and direction. All burns should be attended at all times by a responsible person with adequate water or firefighting equipment available.
Always report planned control burns by calling the McLennan County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at (254) 757-5222 so emergency responders are aware of the activity. Fires must be managed so that smoke does not affect nearby roads, residences, or businesses, and the burn should be fully extinguished or reduced to ash by sundown.
